Why the VCT Americas Stage 2 Play-Ins matter
Stage 2 is the final regional route to VALORANT Champions 2026 in Shanghai. The Stage 2 champion and runner-up qualify directly for Champions, while two more Americas teams qualify through Championship Points earned across the season.
For the teams in the Play-In bracket, the immediate goal is simple – finish in the top four and advance to the Stage 2 Playoffs. From there, the race for the region’s Champions places continues.

The opening round is complete, with four teams moving forward in the upper bracket:
- KRÜ Esports defeated BESTIA, 2-1
- ENVY defeated M80, 2-0
- FURIA Esports defeated 2GAME Esports, 2-1
- Cloud9 defeated Fluxo W7M, 2-1
The next upper-bracket matchups bring in the higher-seeded VCT Americas teams: KRÜ Esports face MIBR, ENVY take on Sentinels, FURIA Esports meet G2 Esports, and Cloud9 face Evil Geniuses.
How the VCT Americas Stage 2 Play-In format works
Twelve teams compete in the Play-Ins – eight teams from the VCT Americas group stage and four qualified Challengers teams. The bracket is double elimination, every match is best-of-three, and the top four teams advance to the Stage 2 Playoffs.
The third- and fourth-place teams from each VCT Americas group received a first-round upper-bracket bye, which is why MIBR, Sentinels, G2 Esports and Evil Geniuses enter after the opening matches.

The VCT Americas Stage 2 Play-Ins run through August 23. The four surviving teams join the four direct qualifiers in the eight-team Stage 2 Playoffs, which begin August 27 and decide the region’s two direct qualifiers for VALORANT Champions Shanghai.
